Dharma Secret’s LOST-n-Found: A Blog Dedicated to the T.V. Show Lost

Theory: Missing Scenes

Many people have been noticing that scenes which promo pics have been released for are being left out of the episodes that they were meant for (Jack saving the little girl in “Tale of Two Cities”, and several scenes from “Further Instructions”). It is not uncommon for scenes to be cut/rearranged/or re-shot, BUT… the Theory Monger in me came up with another reason.

After the LOST Experience game which was designed further allow viewers to interact with the lexicon of the show, I’m wondering if the producers are using the promos to release red herrings. With the popularity of the show among internet users, and the constant search of spoilers, perhaps they are deliberately releasing cut scenes to deflect internet based fans from attempting to find information that is relevant to the actual storyline.

Now, this is just a television show, so I am NOT suggesting that they would be deliberately producing these red herrings for release (similar to shooting alternate endings for high profile movies). My contention is that perhaps, they are using “throw away” scenes that they shot but have decided not to use to throw spoiler seekers off the trail of relevant information.
