LOST Experience: Retrivers of Truth “Hint Hunt”
If you think that this ROT Word Hunt is confusing, then you are not alone. I admit, that it took me several hours of reading through forum threads on multiple boards before I finally understood what the hell was going on… Well at least I think. Here is a complete recap of the information that we have to this point.
June 16, 2006
A new discussion thread is added to the Retrievers of Truth forum, which leads gamers to start AIMing in-game board users DSLerator, and iobiSeeingYou.
June 26, 2006
A new thread is added to the Retriever of Truth forum. The new thread explains that there will be the release of several smaller clues over the next few days that, when put together will lead to the revelation of a bigger clue. The first clue was the first word of the first song in Cabaret, which is “Willkommen” or “Welcome“.
June 27, 2006
People who previously AIMed ROT members after the June 16th post receive the following message from DSLerator: “Here’s your next hint: 25 15 21 18″. By doing a alpha-numeric exchange, these numbers are translated to: 25 15 21 18 = “YOUR“.
June 28, 2006
People start receiving instant messages from DSLerator, directing them to the MySpace page of a Mandrake Wig (http://www.myspace.com/mandrakewig), where the following clues are found in a blog entry. The blog entry consists of a story accompanied by a series of Jeopardy style questions.
From Mandrake Wig’s Blog on Myspace:
“I’m not going to tell you whether I won or lost. But I will tell you this, questions 3 and 4 really stumped me and my father never invented Jeopardy.”
Based on this statement, and the fact they were the only two questions that have single word answers, gamers surmised that questions 3 and 4 are the hidden words that they are looking for.
Question #3
To which Ralph replied, chicken necks. “NEXT”Question #4
Not a friend to the radio star. “VIDEO“

The following thread by fiberoptician is posted on the Retrievers of Truth forum.

Based on this thread, we learn 6 things:
1. The password to the site will be changed, and gamers will have to register again to get the new password.
2. Gamers will receive two more clues for the word hunt in the registration e-mail (making a total of six hidden words).
3. Fiberoptician is now administering a secondary word hunt.
4. The registration e-mail will also contain a “PS” at the end of the message with the first clue for Fiberoptician’s word hunt. The word, when added to the richerdeeperbroader.com url, will reveal a secret “Goodie”.
5. Fiberoptician’s second clue will come on Friday June 30th via Mandrake Wig’s myspace site.
6. Fiberoptician’s third clue will be given by him somehow on Saturday July 1st.
As promised, the Retrievers of Truth password is changed. Upon re-registering, gamers received the following e-mail.
“Dear friends,
I want to thank you all for registering for my newsletter. Things in the world
of Bole and the Retrievers of Truth are very exciting as of late. The RoT is
getting worldwide recognition and I will be appearing on several television
shows in Korea and Australia in the very near future. The other day I was walking along the river, Bien Ecouter, near a friend’s home
in Switzerland. I was contemplating the nature of things and eating a
buttercream torte when a yellow lab came out of nowhere and blocked my path. I
stood motionless for what seemed like an eternity stunned by this intrusion all
the while wondering what the creature’s intentions were. The yellow lab is a highly evolved creature, as I have stated on my website and
in my many books. When they venture into our personal space it is usually for a
reason and at this moment I could not fathom what this particular stranger
wanted of me? Had he heard of me from other retrievers? Did he sense my
willingness to communicate? Was this all just a coincidence? After a few seconds our eyes locked and we communicated. He stated his name was
“Wand Prowess.” He then stated that I should remember his name, “not as it is
but as it can be.” Then he began what seemed like a poem, “In the Pacific I’m in
the ocean bare, when I’m up north I’m the sea bear.” I tried to question both
statements but he just looked at me, turned and as he was about to walk away he
said, “I’ll leave you with two things to ponder” and he then turned and ran off.
These are they:Maslow’s hierarchy
Keep who’s eye on the prize?
I only tell you these tales of my journeys to entertain. But I do hope these
incidents in my life will inspire you to look more deeply into your own.Yours truly, Dr. Vincent “Wally” Bole
PS: Consuming a diet high in fiber can be beneficial to the BLOOD.”
Compliments of malicia19 from 4815162342.com:
I happen to be French and I can tell you that “Bien Ecouter” is a fake name, it means “listen carefully”.
In the e-mail, Wally meets a man named “Wand Prowess”, which is an anagram for “New Password”. This character then recites a riddle, “In the Pacific I’m in the ocean bare, when I’m up north I’m the sea bear.” This riddle gives us the new ROT password; Sea Bear = Ursus Maritimus = “Polar Bear“.
Next are the two word hunt clues that were promised in the fiberoptician’s forum thread:
Maslow’s hierarchy: “Needs”
Keep who’s eye on the prize?: “Your”
This brings the Six words in the Word Hunt to: “Welcome your next video needs your…”
Finally, at the end of the e-mail is the “PS” statement: “Consuming a diet high in fiber can be beneficial to the BLOOD.”
By adding the word “blood” to the richerdeeperbroader url, gamers are then redirected to site where they can download a photoshop file with a series of letters on it.

It is then surmised that the other two clues will be parts two and three of the document, which can then be layered on top of each other to form a completed document.
However, the ARG designers made the mistake of posting all three parts assuming that no one would be able to find them until the remaining two clues are released. The remaining two words were found, and then the full document assembled.
Compliments of Dennis (For guessing “Money”), BellyOfDesire (for guessing “Sorrow”), and Mochi (for layering the three images) from thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com.

Based on this latest revelation, combined with the various clues from Rachel that the Hanso Foundation is building a ship for some sort of voyage, one can theorize that perhaps, the Hanso Foundation may be reactivating the island facility featured in LOST.
UPDATE:
As promised, the second clue for fiberoptician’s word find is found through Mandrake Wig’s myspace site. Two new pictures are added to his Flickr page. One of which has the discription, “Green like MONEY”.

The second picture, which has the tag, “Get a clue: Direct observation or participation?” Is later found to be the next word in the Hint Hunt. By doing a search for “Direct observation or participation”, gamers found that this is the definition of the word “Experience“.
1 Experience n [ME, fr. MF, fr. L experientia act of tyring, fr. experient-, experiens, prp. of experiri to try, fr. ex- + -periri [akin to periculum attempt] -more at Fear] [14c] 1a: direct observation of or participation in events as a basis of knowledge b: the fact or state of having been affected by or gained knowledge through direct observation or participation 2a: practical knowledge, skill, or practice derived from direct observation of or participation in events or in a particular activity b: the length of such participation [has 10 years __ in the job] 3a: the conscious events that make up an individual life b: the events that make up the conscious past of a community or nation or mankind generally 4: something personally encountered, undergone, or lived through 5: the act or process of directly perceiving events or reality.
UPDATE:
On Saturday July 1st, a new thread is added to the Retrievers of Truth forum.

The first thing found in this new thread is the question, “What do you get from a waitress?”. This clue gave gamers the next word in the Hint Hunt: “CHECK“. It doesn’t take long for the inginuity of the gamers to strike again, when the final word, “Tomorrow” is guessed later in the day, which now brings the string of words to “Welcome, your next video needs your experience. Check tomorrow“.
The next clue in this thread is for fiberoptician’s Word Hunt, “SORROW“, which unfortunately is now irrelevant since the password was figured out two days earlier.

UPDATE:
On Sunday July 2nd, several people report chatting with IOBISeeingYou on AIM. During the various chats, IOBISeeingYou gave the clue “Who is Rob Morrow’s daughter?”. After a quick internet search, gamers found that Rob Morrow’s daughter is named Tu Morrow (Which I think is a rather cruel thing to do to your child. Why the hell would you name your child Tu Morrow?). This clue is easily then coverted to the Hint Hunt word “TOMORROW”, which again proves irrelevant since the word was guessed by a gamer days prior.
