Dharma Secret’s LOST-n-Found: A Blog Dedicated to the T.V. Show Lost

On July 12th, a new post is added to Rachel Blake’s blog. In this short entry, gamers were provided with a link to the LOST Podcast page on ABC.com.



By entering the login and password provided by Rachel, gamers gained access to a recording of a phone call between GidgetGirl, and Rachel.

In this recording, GidgetGirl tells Rachel that she and the man that she loves (GWC lady and Hugh McIntyre?) are involved with whatever it is that the Foundation is doing. The end of the message includes directions from GidgetGirl for Rachel to meet her in Paris where they will meet, and GidgetGirl will give Rachel something.

While preparing the recording to be hosted I noticed something interesting about it. While looking at the audio track, I noticed that the recording was edited in two spots. However, this is most likely a result from the creation of the recording, and probably means nothing. The audio was no doubt recorded several times, and the best parts of all the recordings spliced together.

RB: Hello. Hello?
GG: Yeah…
RB: Who is this? (pause) Hello?
GG: Just another Monday morning quarterback.
RB: GidgetGirl? How - how did you find me?
GG: Is that really important?
RB: Where have you been?
GG: Hiding… which is what you should be doing.
RB: I am hiding.
GG: If I can find you, so can they… but they’re leaving you alone for some reason. Why, Rachel?
RB: I g-(pause) Why are you calling now?
GG: No. Don’t do that - don’t avoid the question.
RB: I’m not.
GG: (sigh) It doesn’t make sense. Me, I’m involved. The man I love, say what you will about him, about us - he’s involved. I can’t get away, but you - Rachel, you have a choice.
RB: Like you had a choice to fall in love with a married man? I don’t have a choice. I have to do this and I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you any more.
GG: I have something for you - a package. I think it’s time we met.
RB: Where?
GG: Here. In Paris.
RB: But - but I’m in Italy. I can’t-
GG: Tomorrow. Check your e-mail. I’ll send you the meet location. It’ll be encoded, but, you’re smart. It shouldn’t be a problem.
RB: How will I know you - what’s your name? Please! You know my name -
GG: And you’ve made it clear - that’s all I know. You’ll know me.
RB: OK.
GG: One more thing.
RB: What’s that?
GG: No cameras. You’re reckless, Rachel, and reckless will get me killed. (phone hangs up)
