Dharma Secret’s LOST-n-Found: A Blog Dedicated to the T.V. Show Lost

On Sept. 27th, in a post on hansofoundation.livejournal.com, Javi finally came clean, and confirmed that he was IN FACT DJ Dan.

no, i am not speaker (although, for a while, this was his blogging home)… let’s let him out himself as he sees fit, but i have been known to essay the role of a certain donut-lovin’ deejay on occasion.

from the fall of 2005 through may, 2006, i was one of the architects of the alternate reality game/multimedia experiment/multi-platform storyline known as “the lost experience.” during that time i worked in close proximity with the creators of “lost” (no surprises there as i was one of them) a coterie of international partners and sponsors, an amazing team of web deisgners, abc marketing executives, a global team of bloggers and chroniclers, a talented and varied cast, a crack team of video and audio producers, and one very bright writer named jordan rosenberg to design and implement the experience.

although my duties on “lost” ended on may of 2006, i remained associated with the experience both as a voice-for-hire and in an emeritus role behind the scenes.

the experience was an ambitious undertaking, and one that has sparked a huge amount of opinion from fans, viewers and players… since most of you have already heard hours of my blithering, i am turning this forum over to you, loved it, hated it, let me know. i know there’s a lot of questions, and i may just have some answers…

…the rules are that this is my forum, i will only answer questions as i see fit, i will only give as much information as i see fit (i don’t much care for mudslinging or blamestorming) and reserve the right to - ahem - shut you down… and if you do not have a live journal account and are posting anonymously, sign your posts, as i will delete unsigned anynymous posts summarily (because, after all, you know MY name!)…

so let me have it, i will refresh with a new post every once in a while, again, as i see fit…

On Sept. 18th DJ Dan’s Podcast Page was updated hinting that he will have a special guest on his Sept. 24th live podcast

He tells gamers to go to whereisalvar.com where they find the following message from Rachel.

Short announcement was posted to announce that DJ Dan’s next live podcast has changed dates again, and will no be on Sept. 24th, so be sure to make note of the changhe, and tune in.

On Sept. 12th, an announcement is added to the DJ Dan podcast page notifying gamers that the date for his next live podcast has been changed from Sept. 23rd to Sept. 22nd.

On Sept. 9th, Speaker posted the following image on the inside the experience blog.

Gamers flipped the image so that the numbers could be read, and then ran them through a Hex code cypher, which yielded “rewsna ym wonk ydaerla uoy neht era uoy kniht i ohw tuoba gniklat eruoy fi nadjd ot ni llac uoy draeh ti si thgif eht ni uoy gnipeek si ecneicsnoc –m”

Gamers then reversed the message to get: “M–Conscience is keeping you in the fight is it? Heard you call in to DJ Dan. If you’re talking about who I think you are then you already know my answer.”

It became apparent to gamers that this was a secret message from Rachel to Malik, referring to the message that he called into DJ Dan’s live podcast.

UPDATE:
On Sept. 11th, Lost Ninja, like Speaker, recieved a mystery e-mail with a coded message.

BIG props to dante on TLEC for being the first to crack the code. After flipping the image vertically, each letter in the coded message is substituted with the letter to the left of that key on the keyboard.
