Dharma Secret’s LOST-n-Found: A Blog Dedicated to the T.V. Show Lost

LOST Experience: Apollo Bar Event Cancelled?

On August 23rd, there was SUPPOSED to be an Apollo Bar give away at ESPN in New York, However, when gamers arrived for the event, there was no Apollo bars to be found.

Plasto from 4915162342.com probably explained the situation best:

Of course, something this big could not go down with out the Speaker weighing in on it. It deffinitly made me chuckle when he mentioned that perhaps SHADE had something to do with the event being cancelled/flubbed/whatever.

LOST Experience: Whereisalvar.com Goes Live

During the evening of August 23rd, whereisalvar.com went live. Rachel explains that when gamers acquire an Apollo bar, that they take a picture of themselves with it, and upload it to the site.

One thing in particular that gamers are to look out for is a “Golden Oracle” bar which has a special code on the back. When enough of the Golden Oracle bars are found, Rachel says that she will provide more information on what to do next.

Kay, Now I’m REALLY FRIGGIN PISSED that they are not giving away Apollo bars in Hawaii. Damn ARG BASTAGES!

LOST Experience: Apollo Unwrapped

On August 23rd, Lostpedia posts a picture of an unwrapped Apollo Bar which shows the words Whereisalvar.com. Since the first New York give away was cancelled, it has yet to be confirmed whether or not the picture is real or not. However, this does coincide with the recent discovery of the whereisalvar site.

LOST News: Apollo Candy Post on EW’s Pop Watch Blog

On August 22nd, Scott Brown posted an entry about the upcoming Apollo Candy give away on EW.com’s Pop Watch blog. Nothing was posted on the blog that anyone who visited the site didn’t already know, but here is the post anyway.

‘Lost’: Grab an Apollo bar
The third season of Lost is so close, you can practically taste it. In fact, you can taste it — in the form of a complimentary Apollo bar. Below, find the complete press release from “The Apollo Candy Company, a subsidiary of The Hanso Group.” (We’ve redacted the contact phone number until we’re absolutely sure it’s part of the game.) Knowing what you now know, would you willingly bite into any air-dropped, Hatch-stored, Hanso-affiliated foodstuff?

Also, let’s begin a running tally of everyone who’s enjoyed the “out-of-this-world” taste of an Apollo: We can assume Hurley ate one (though I believe we only saw him eat one in a hallucination), and Kate devoured one in a long, very deliberate mini-sequence, shortly after the discovery of the Hatch. Are her horsey hallucinations somehow connected to Apollo consumption? Is the “out-of-this-world” thing a clue to an alien thread? (I sure hope not.) Also: Am I hungry? Yes. Not quite hungry enough to consume edible schwag, but certainly hungry enough to raid the breakroom Swiss Miss box. Back soon…

COMING TO A GALAXY NEAR YOU: “APOLLO BAR,”
THE CHOCOLATE BAR THAT’S OUT OF THIS WORLD

Free Apollo Bars to Be Distributed for a Limited Time
In Select Locations Across the U.S., U.K., Australia And Asia
What once was lost, now is found… Apollo Bar, the scrumptious chocolate bar developed in the 1960s by M. David Benson, has been enjoyed by generations of consumers. For those who’ve yet to taste Mr. Benson’s bars, your opportunity to “discover what’s inside” awaits. Beginning Wednesday, August 23, free Apollo Bars will be distributed while supplies last in select locations throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Asia. The Apollo Bar is manufactured and distributed by the Apollo Candy Company, a subsidiary of The Hanso Group.

“Chocolate has been my life’s passion, and I am thrilled to be able to share my passion with people all over the world,” said Mr. Benson. “Once people taste my chocolate bar, I think they‘ll be hooked. I’d like to thank Mr. Alvar Hanso and the good folks at The Hanso Foundation for making this possible.”

Mr. Benson, founder of the “Apollo Candy Company,” distributed the first Apollo Bars in San Francisco, CA in 1964. The bars grew in popularity and were circulating across the United States by 1968 before the company fell into dire straits in the early seventies. However, due to the considerable financial intervention of Alvar Hanso, founder of the worldwide philanthropic organization, The Hanso Foundation, the company was saved from bankruptcy and infused with new life. Today, the Apollo Company is alive and well as the private purveyor of chocolates for Alvar Hanso and his many companies.

From August 23 through September, the Apollo Candy Company will distribute free Apollo Bars in cities throughout the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Chicago. For a complete list of dates and locations where people can get their free Apollo bar, and for more information on the Apollo Candy Company, please visit our website at www.apollocandy.com.

LOST Experience: Apollo Candy U.K. Give Away

On August 21st, Apollocandy.com is updated to also include information on a UK give away at “Forbidden Planet” Stores.

UPDATE:
Captainflafle from Dharmasecrets.com, who has a friend that works at a Forbidden Planet, reports that the stores may be given a glyph to post somewhere in the store during the Apollo Candy give away.

My friends works at forbidden planet’s London mega store and says that rumour at work is that a glyph is going to be released and put up above the counter!

Because he works there and the display is being put up the day before he says he will try to get a picture if there is 1!

Im guessing it will be the same in the USA but a different glyph

Also, the UK page on apollocandy.com is updated, and now provides the Forbidden Planet url where gamers can find the nearest store location. However, the site only provides a link to titanmagazines.com
