Dharma Secret’s LOST-n-Found: A Blog Dedicated to the T.V. Show Lost

Rachel Blake

From one of our readers:

On http://www.rachelblake.com/2006/06/reykjavik-iceland.html

Rachel says “I may also take a trip today down the coast, perhaps to the city of Vik. It’s supposed to be gorgeous, and I think it’s at the southernmost tip of the island, so it will feel like an accomplishment.”

Vik is the site of the fictional Hanso Foundation’s Vik Institute in the TV series Lost.

I’m from Iceland and I just wanted to let you know.

PS: as you can see, Vik is not a big city, it’s a very small village

Vik village
We might one day find a video of Rachel’s research and visit to “Hanso Foundation’s Vik Institute”

LOST Video: Chronological Crash Scene

It’s bveen a LONG time since I’ve posted, but hey, don’t we all wish that we could just spend all day on the internet. Here is a fantastic video by mrlerone in which he has spliced together a chonological view of the crash. Awesome job! Many thanks to mermiz1 for sharing this with me. Enjoy!

Theory: New Hope (Crash Theory 2.0 revisited)

WoHooo!!!! For a long time I had thought that I was way off on speculating that the crach was faked. Now, after the D.O.C. episode, I have new hope. I’m still not completely convinced that I was right. I’m leaning more towards Flight 815 crashing on the island, and the Others/Dharma Initiative/Whomever faked a second crash site to keep people from the outside world from stumbling onto the island while looking for 815.

You can read my original crash theory here.

Theory: Alex’s Father

After the “Not In Portland” Episode, everyone on the net has been debating if Alex is Rousseau’s Daughter, or if she is Ben’s Daughter. I have even seen arguments saying that Ben and Rousseau are (or were) married.

Assuming that Rousseau wasn’t lying (Which until proven otherwise, I don’t) there are three reasons to disprove the Danielle-Ben marriage.

1. Rousseau said that she was pregnant BEFORE she arrived on the island, and Ben said that he had lived on the island all his life (Although, it wouldn’t be the first time he lied if he did).

2. Rousseau said that her husband was dead, and alluded that she may have killed him.

3. Rousseau also said that the Other’s kidnapped her daughter. If she were Ben’s daughter, she would have been born with the others. Unless there is another girl named Alex running around the Other’s village, Alex is Rousseau’s daughter.

Taking all of the above information into consideration I believe that Alex is NOT Ben’s biological daughter, but was adopted by Ben AFTER she was kidnapped. I’m leaning towards this theory because it is the easiest explanation that would not involve completely uprooting Alex’s family tree. However, always being one who likes to theorize outside of the box, here is another option to consider.

No one in “Not In Portland” said that Ben was Alex’s father. It was hinted at, and the viewers assumed that Juliet was referring to Ben. It is my belief that Juliet was not referring to Ben, but to someone higher up the Other’s hierarchy. I think that Juliet may have been referring to the mysterious Jacob.

With the exception of his name, and the fact that he had a “list”, nothing has been revealed about him. It could be possible, that Jacob was Rousseau’s husband, and that she was either mistaken, or fooled into believing that he died.
